    Lesson Plan:

The kids shared in class what duties and chores their parents did as children and then we talked about what Swami has told about duty. Swami has said that everyone has 3 types of duties – Social, Obligatory and Family duties. We talked about how each of these duties are important.

CLASS DATE: 3/17/2019 TEACHER(S):  Nalini, Gangadher, Manoj
    SUMMARY:  Devotion ATTENDANCE:  15

Beginning prayers led by students. We chant multi faith prayers beginning of each class to show all regions teach same.

Link to multi faith prayers with meaning:

    Main topic:  Devotion (tip 3)

For the Devotion topic this quarter, we are discussing and taking one practice a week to qualify to call our self a devotee of Swami.

Recap of last class: We played Cross the river game. The coast guard at the center of the room was not supposed to let the students with bad value label written on them. But they sneak out anyway. We later discussed why and how bad was able to sneak to the other side of the room. The coast guard was not vigilant. We compared this with our consciousness. We need pay attention to guidance of our consciousnesses, do not suppress it but try to follow. Specific example was our mind says to go play video game, but consciousnesses is saying to finish homework first. Do not suppress it and follow it.  We left the class that we will come back and understand what all we need to do to keep consciousness vigilant.

This week we watched a “Mark of True devotee“, story from Uncle lions. We had students walk from one side of the room to other without dropping a lemon that is placed on their head. Though they were supposed chant God’s name, everyone focused on not dropping the lemon. We concluded that similarly we focus on our tasks all day and remember God only when needed. But we all agreed it is hard to have God’s name on lips all day, as a team we agreed that we could associate an activity that we do not miss and remember Swami when we do that activity. So as tip 3 we are going to think/chant or say SAIRAM, every time we eat snack/meal, drink water/juice/milk.

To add science behind it we watched Dr Masuru’s experiment on water. We are 70% water so more we chant the more positive we become from within and sanctify the surroundings.

    Note to Parents:

One practice a week to qualify to call our self a devotee of Swami. Students add practice each week.

Tip1: Start the day and end the day with Swami’s name. Swami will count this as 8 hour chanting during night.

Tip2: Keep your consciousness active. Do not suppress it.

Tip3: To keep our consciousness active we are going to think/chant or say SAIRAM, every time we eat snack/meal, drink water/juice/milk.
